Why "Invictus"
Invictus means unconquered. William Ernest Henley wrote the poem in 1875, during a long and painful stay in hospital. I share it here:
Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,

The Invictus Framework: 90 Minutes Online
Connect (15 min): Each man shares where he’s at and what he’s building right now.
Asks and offers (15 min): One introduction or resource you need, and one you can give. Connections get made on the spot.
Hot seats (40 min): Two or three men work a live challenge: a hire, a cash-flow squeeze, a stalled deal, a personal issue, a team problem. David coaches; the room adds its lived experience.
Takeaways (10 min): What has landed for everyone else and what they will be applying to their own business and life.
Commit (10 min): One action and the introductions to follow up. You report back at the next meeting.

David started as a general assistant on a Glasgow supermarket floor and rose to EMEA Operations Director at a Fortune 500 company. Along the way came two marriages and divorces, several redundancies, and a Master’s degree at 40 with no university behind him.
In his mid-fifties he switched from corporate life to coaching, first as a Master Coach on Tony Robbins’ team, then with his own clients. Nine years and 4,500+ sessions later, from students to billionaires, his clients call him their Wingman. Forty years in leadership roles across Europe means a deep network of his own. He is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, a Volunteer Regional Coordinator in a Mental Health Charity and a Mental Health First Aider.
At heart he’s a Dad, Grandad and partner, happiest on a hill, on his motorbike, or in front of a live band.

Is this a referral club?

Do I need to run a business?
No. Owners, Founders, Executives, Leaders, and Managers are all welcome.
What if I don’t have a problem to bring?
You’ll still gain from everyone else’s. Most of the time the hot seat you watch is the one you need.
Is what I share kept private?
Yes. Every member agrees to confidentiality (what is shared in the room stays in the room).
Can I leave?
You can leave any time. There is no long-term contract.
